We Are North Nashville — Custom WordPress Website for Community Storytelling
We Are North Nashville is a multimedia storytelling project dedicated to gathering, documenting, and sharing the wisdom and lived experience of elders from the North Nashville community. Led by community organizer and artist M. Simone Boyd with collaborators Andrea Tudhope and Steve Haruch, the initiative amplifies voices and histories that have helped shape the neighborhood’s identity over decades. The website serves as the digital hub for podcasts, essays, events, media coverage, and community engagement opportunities.
The goal of this project was to build a custom WordPress website that supports a rich, multimedia storytelling platform for a nonprofit initiative. The website design needed to reflect the dignity of the elders whose stories are featured, support ongoing publishing of podcasts and essays, and provide ways for visitors to stay connected, learn about events, and donate toward the project’s sustainability.
